Not very many echeverias grow packed so tightly that it's almost impossible to infiltrate the harvesting of the pups! This Echeveria derenbergii painted lady is one of them. Thinning out a cluster is important for the health of the plant because pests cannot be reached when pesticides are applied. This is why I thinned out this Echeveria. One to encourage more pups and two, so that I can see what's going on inside the clusters.
