Having a mare! Escaped horses bring M4 motorway to a standstill

Escaped horses brought westbound traffic on the M4 to a standstill on Sunday morning. Traffic delays were reported as both lanes of the motorway were closed after a group of horses escaped a nearby field and headed onto the motorway in the direction of Reading, Berkshire, according to local news reports. Thames Valley Police officers helped rescue the horses and later tweeted their thanks to those who helped them in the operation.
