Arash, from Iran, studies economics and maths at JMU. Hear about his career plans and why he chose the USA.

Arash came to the USA for the quality of the universities and the experience of studying abroad. He wanted to use this opportunity to grow academically.

Coming to the USA was a cultural shock at first, especially coming from an Islamic country to a liberal country. It was a big change.

Arash sees himself becoming a financial engineer in the future, as this is the area he is most interested in. He wants to pursue a data analytics and financial engineering degree at graduate school.

He spent one semester as a business analytics research assistant for a professor at JMU.

Arash lives in the moment. He enjoys his time in the United States and he loves JMU’s friendly community.
