How to Test Oven Temperature Sensor Kenmore Whirlpool GE KitchenAid LG Range
If you believe your oven range seems like it is not heating evenly or you believe there is something wrong with the oven temperature of your range test the temperature sensor/temperature control with a multimeter. It is also suggested to buy a hanging rack oven thermometer. The multi-meter test involves UNPLUGGING the range and then removing the back panel and Isolating(disconnecting) the temperature sensor connector. You do not have to take out the sensor and can test the sensor without removing it.

This test allows you to see if your sensor is good or bad and needs replacement. Replacing the sensor is simple. To replace a failed temp sensor just remove the hex screw and pull out old sensor, then feed wire connectors of new sensor through the hole and reconnect(but test new one with multi meter prior to installing).

These sensors are in most all new models and brands of oven ranges: GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Roper, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Tappan, Westinghouse, Amana, Estate, Kitchen Aid, Jenn Air, Admiral, Bosch, LG, Samsung, Amana, Americana, Brown, Crosley, Danby, Gibson, Haier, Hotpoint, Ikea, Inglis, JennAir, Kitchenaid, Litton, Magic Chef, MagicChef
