man POINTS REVOLVER at Lodi cop during intense traffic stop The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office has cleared two Lodi Police Department officers who in 2017 shot and killed a 35-year-old man.

The Oct. 23, 2017, shooting of Matthew Palaita by Lodi Officers Dominic Carillo and Daniel Bristow, both four-year veterans of the department, was found to be justified under the circumstances, the District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Carillo and Bristow shot Palaita, whose toxicology report indicated he had methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system, after he exited a vehicle and pointed a firearm at Carillo, according to a 19-page report released by the District Attorney’s Office.
