National Security Minister Hermangild Francis is calling on his brother Castries Mayor Peterson Francis and Castries South MP Dr. Ernest Hilaire to stop the very public war of words between them and to settle their differences amicably. The Mayor has been severely criticized by Hilaire for his management of the Castries Constituencies Council but reports that Francis may be considering contesting the Castries South seat have led to speculation that that is the real cause of the tension between the two men. The tensions between Castries Mayor Peterson Francis and Castries South MP Dr. Ernest Hilaire seems to be centered around the management of the CCC and the Mayor showing interest in contesting the Castries South seat at the next general election. National Security Minister Hermangild Francis brother of the Mayor thinks that the two men should meet and settle their differences in the interest of good relations rather than engaging in the back and forth.
Peterson Francis has been criticized for his statement that whether or not he chooses to enter the political race he will ensure that Dr. Hilaire does not win the seat
Earlier this week the Mayor told the media that he had been approached by Castries South constituents asking him to contest the seat. He said that he will take advantage of the opportunity if it arises.
