Insulin resistance is a condition where cells in the body, including the liver, fat, and muscles, starts to become resistant to the insulin that is produced by the pancreas. This means these cells are ignoring the signaling that insulin is responsible for. In turn, there is a reduction in the absorption of glucose from the bloodstream toward cells, leading to a high blood sugar level. Since glucose is critical for energy in the average person, the development of insulin resistance can lead to poor cellular energy - but this is really just the beginning of a bigger issue.
A study led by researchers at the University of Washington School of Public Health, along with other facilities, looked at the potential prevalence of insulin resistance among a group of patients who underwent a general checkup with a physician. Among the patients who had a checkup, 21.5% of the female patients and 25.1% of the male patients had met the criteria for a diagnosis of insulin resistance....
Another study, published in the Journal of Diabetes Research, found that insulin resistance is no longer simply a concern among adults, but the condition is being increasingly diagnosed among children. This was a population-based review study that took into account multiple epidemiology studies from the past. The studies that were analyzed as part of this review revealed a prevalence of insulin resistance as high as 44% in some publications related to the younger population....
● A study led by researchers in Japan, China, and the USA, looked at how the induction of autophagy would affect the regulation of insulin production. The study also considered insulin sensitivity in the study subjects that were part of the trial. It was found that autophagy delivered a...
● A study published in the ECLI Journal describes the role of autophagy in type 2 diabetes as a disease. The authors of the paper explain that diabetes is known as a disease that leads to cellular injuries. Energy metabolism is also adversely affected by the condition. The induction of autophagy, according to the authors....
● One scientific report also explains that a specific type of autophagy process, known as PGE1, could potentially inhibit.....
