Hundreds of maidens attend Reed Dance in KZN

Hundreds of maidens attend Reed Dance in KZN Hundreds of maidens attending the Reed Dance at Nyokeni Place in Nongoma in northern KwaZulu-Natal have started singing and dancing as they make their way to the palace to present their reeds to AmaZulu king Goodwill Zwelithini.

Maidens from different parts of the province, as well as girls from Mpumalanga, Gauteng and neighbouring countries - including eSwatini - are attending the annual Reed Dance or Umkhosi Womhlanga.

This weekend the maidens are led by Princess Cebolenkosi - who is the daughter of AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini. For more on developments we now cross to our reporter Sbongakonke Mbatha who is also attending.
