In this video, I answer Asmaa's question about how to stop thinking and start speaking English!

"Asmaa asked: Hi Pete, first, I would like to thank you for the amazing job you are doing to teach us the Aussie accent. Then, can you please tell me how i can change the accent that has been fixed in my mind. When I listen to your episode, I practise the accent. But in my other conversations with my colleagues, even less than 1 % of my mind thinks about the accent. My time always thinks about the grammar and the words that i need to say. Another issue is that , when i speak english, my concentration on speaking english, reduces my attention to the subject, and this makes my speaking un natural. I hate when people thinking i am not contributing to their conversation. I can not catch up with the speed of their conversation, when I am thinking of the words they used in my mind at the same time."

So in today's video, I reply to Asmaa's question/s and give her advice on how to improve her English fluency, her English pronunciation, her confidence when speaking English, and how to have more natural conversations with native English speakers at work or when socialising.

Use this advice if you too are struggling with translating English in your head, worrying about your accent or grammar mistakes when speaking English, as well as your fluency and confidence when speaking English with native speakers.
