The Bully View | Does Low Drive Leads To Low Intelligence In Canines? (TBV) - Does Low Drive Lead To Low Intelligence In Canines?

Earlier this morning Darryl Thrower made a facebook status quoting:

"got quite a few messages from bully breeders about my comments yesterday in a live with Rome Barnes... I stated that "low drive leads to low intelligence" and I stand by that... The drive of a dog comes in categories (not explained here) and each of those categories comes with levels of drive (not explained here)... Drive has nothing to do with aggression and should not only be mandated towards working dogs or breeds... As for intelligence, drive is very similar to ambition, a dogs level of drive allows it to experience different situations and same situations at higher paces or intensities that it has to figure out at an equal or higher pace or intensity (how a ball bounces off different surfaces at different speeds, difference between a friend, a stranger and a threat, where to bite a rope, which teeth to use, how a rabbit runs verses a cat or squirrel, did it loop around or go to ground, the difference between running up an A frame verse running down, etc all stimulate the mind) drive is the push needed to take intelligence and conditioning to another level... it is well understood that the body will follow the mind or the mind will follow the body... it applies to dogs also... For whatever reason there's a push in todays breeders to soften the American Bully."

Today on The Bully View we're going to discuss what drives a dog and what determines a dog's level of intelligence.
