Ex-model narrates her ordeal in the hands of an abusive husband When love turns sour, vows are thrown out of the window while the fairytales and cherry topped smiles vanish.
Such is the story of former model Priscilla Chigariro who has suffered at the hands of her Russian ex-husband.
It was like a match made in heaven and perfected on mother earth. A model and a foreign businessman, it was indeed the perfect combination but then things turned sour after the husband, Allen Gessen turned abusive.
“At first it was all rosy then he changed, he started physically and emotionally abusing me. He would force me to do some things against my wish and if I refuse he would hire other women to do the things with him. He would go on to humiliate me in front of my friends,” said Chigariro.
Eventually the mother of two, a 6-year-old boy and a girl who is just a year old decided to walk away from the marriage
“With a lot of man that are very controlling they won’t let you leave in peace, I thought by walking away I would find some form of peace but it has escalated to another level,” narrated an emotional Priscilla.
However, walking away from the abusive marriage is proving to be a daunting task for Priscilla.
As the world commemorates the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, Priscilla narrates the abuse she suffered at the hands of sixteen bouncers sent to forcefully evict her from her house.
The case is in court and is expected to be heard on the 16th of this month but to what end when she has lost almost everything they acquired as a couple.
While some women have managed to walk away from abusive marriages others have been unlucky and have left the toxic unions in body bags.
