James Black who was killed 2 December by a fugitive with a lengthy criminal record of felonies dating back over a decade. James Black served in the United States Marines, where he achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was deployed to Iraq several times and served in intelligence. Black also worked as a private contractor in Afghanistan.
For the last five years, Black has served as director of a fugitive apprehension company called Black Umbrella Group and has worked globally to locate and apprehend hundreds of felony fugitives in coordination with state, federal and international law enforcement agencies.
He left behind a wife Michelle and five children ranging in age from 2 to 22. The eldest, Austin, followed his father's footsteps in joining the Marines.
