Let’s jump right into it:
1. Shop with a gift list in hand of specific items you are there to purchase. If you stick to your list, you won't spend more money than you ought to! Stick to the gift list and save money on your holiday gifts.
2. Use a rewards credit card, but only spend what you have in cash. For example, this quarter, Discover gives you 5% back on Target, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com. And Discover will double your cash back in the first year. So you'll basically get 10% cash back with Discover on your holiday gift shopping!

3. If you are shopping online, get the tool Honey. I am not sponsored by Honey, I just think it can be a great tool to save money on Christmas shopping, holiday shopping, or whatever you are shopping for. It automatically searches the web for discount codes so you don't have to go to the sketchy websites to try and make one work.
4. If you are shopping online, place an item in your shopping cart and leave it there. Retailers will often send you a coupon of 10%-25% to close out your order.
5. Consider getting a warehouse membership, such as one from Costco, in order to save money on Christmas gifts. Costco can save you hundreds of dollars on everyday items. If you want to know how to save money on holiday presents, one easy way is to buy your holiday gifts at a warehouse store.
6. Consider doing a gift exchange as opposed to buying a gift for each friend/family member. This will save you money and you can get together and have a party to exchange the gifts. It's fun and will allow you to splurge on one great gift and have a great time exchanging with your friends!
7. Know who you are buying for during the holiday shopping season. If you have a little sibling, chances are they want to hang out with you. Take them to a local museum/lunch, go to a National Park, etc. It’s about QUALITY TIME, not money. And if you have a pet, just get them a giant roll of toilet paper to shred.
8. Shop secondhand. Amazon, ebay, garage sales, thrift stores, used bookstores.... there are so many places to find unique, awesome gifts. It can be fun to go bargain hunting. Go with a friend, get some coffee, and shop around. It is like a treasure hunt.
9. Make your own gift, such as baking treats or putting together a great photo album. Sometimes, people would much rather have some nice photos than another gadget or item. DIY Christmas gifts can be the best presents you can give!
10. Use newspaper cartoon section for wrapping paper for your holiday gifts. It’s cool, cheap, and ecofriendly!
