Marie Fredriksson's life and Roxette music | The world lost another angel voice in 2019 Gun-Marie Fredriksson was born on 30 May 1958 outside the small Swedish village of Össjö.

Before coming together to form the duo with Per, Marie was already established artist in Sweden, releasing a number of solo albums.

Together with Per Gessle (vocals and guitar), Marie Fredriksson (vocals and keyboards), formed the duo in 1986. "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", "Joyride", "Spending My Time", "Dangerous", "Fading Like A Flower", "How Do You Do" and many more...

Fredriksson met her husband, keyboardist Mikael "Micke" Bolyos, during the Australian leg of "Join The Joyride!" in December 1991. The couple married in a private ceremony in May 1994, which was attended only by immediate family members. They have two children: a daughter named Inez Josefin and a son named Oscar.

In 2002, after fainting at home, Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumor...
The tumor was successfully removed in surgery and Roxette continue to rock.

Marie died on 9 December 2019 in Djursholm, Sweden, at the age of 61, from a recurrence of a previous brain tumor.
