Statistics Korea says the country added some 464,000 new jobs in the second quarter compared to the year before,... boosted mostly by temporary positions for senior citizens. However, the number of quality jobs for people in their 40s saw a significant drop during the same period.
The Q2 figure is also a drop from the 503,000 jobs created in the first quarter.
Employment numbers for the health and welfare sectors were up,... while new positions for the construction sector fell due to sluggish demand.
