Subscribe to Vesti News The large-scale Memory of Generations exhibition, which opened November 4th at the Moscow Manege, has already been attended by more than 150,000 people. The exhibition also shows the prototype of the future memorial for the Soviet soldier in Rzhev. The monument, a 25 meter (~82 feet) tall statue of a soldier, is being erected in Tver Oblast in the place where some of the most bloody battles of the Great Patriotic War took place. 1.3 million defenders of the homeland died there in fourteen months of battles.
The memorial is planned to open in 2020. But for now, the heroes' memory is preserved in the movie Rzhev.
