Voucher balloon-drop triggers stampede in Sydney Westfield mall injuring Christmas shoppers AT least five people have been rushed to hospital and several more were injured after Christmas shoppers were caught up in a stampede for free coffee vouchers.
About 150 shoppers gathered at a Westfield in Sydney for a midnight balloon drop containing vouchers to promote the shopping mall's "33-hour non-stop shop". Eyewitnesses describe the chaos.
