Hamish Gaman was given a 'humiliating' new role as he returned to Dancing on Ice tonight. The professional skater was seen on the ice for the first time since 'parting ways' with Caprice Bourret amid 'bullying' claims, which ITV strongly deny. Caprice came out with a brand new partner Oscar Peter after reportedly refusing to skate with Hamish, but ITV have stood by their skater and he remains a part of the Dancing on Ice family. He was spotted 'drowning his sorrows' at the bar during actress Lisa George's Coronation Street-themed skate. Hamish didn't actually do any skating but was swigging a tankard at the Rovers Return set alongside Corrie stars and former celeb skaters Jane Danson and Antony Cotton. Dancing on Ice viewers took to Twitter to claim it was 'unfair' that Hamish was without a partner and reduced to an 'extra' "Hamish was at the bar, only gets bit parts now!! Get rid of caprice," said one viewer. Another added: "I feel so sorry for Hamish, bless him." "Feel sorry for Hamish. He should have a new partner..remember this is his career," said a third. A fourth joked: "There's Hamish at the bar! He can drown his sorrows about Caprice" Read More Related Articles Dancing on Ice's Caprice booed by angry crowd as viewers call for her to be axed Read More Related Articles Holly Willoughby shows off ruffled 'bridesmaid' dress with daring split on Dancing On Ice When the bombshell was announced last week, Phillip Schofield confirmed that Hamish would stay a part of the family. The presenter said: "Unfortunately Caprice and Hamish have parted ways and will not be skating this week. "As you saw in our opening number, Hamish remains very much part of our professional team and we hope to have Caprice back on the ice next week." Caprice allegedly complained to show bosses about Hamish's relentless 'gaslighting' behaviour and threatened to quit unless she got a new partner. The model is reportedly preparing to sue ITV as she was 'pushed beyond her capablities by her 'taskmaster' skating partner. However, ITV have denied allegations of 'bullying' and insists Hamish is still a part of the Dancing on Ice family. An ITV spokesperson said: "We take allegations of bullying very seriously but found no evidence on Dancing On Ice and we strongly refute any suggestion to the contrary. "We’re very proud of the team, both on and off screen. "They produce a fantastic show and we are committed to ensuring that everyone who works on the programme is fully supported." *Dancing on Ice airs Sundays on ITV at 6pm
