As Australia farewelled one of the volunteer firefighters killed before Christmas, fire crews across the country have started preparing for worsening conditions later in the week. So far more than two thousand homes have been destroyed in blazes across the country, with an estimated damage bill of more than $700 million so far. The death toll stands at 25, and police say there have been isolated reports of looting, with charges laid. Read more here:
