I didn't know where or how to start studying for the AREs, so I started in the middle. My first exam was the Programming and Analysis exam. I felt like my knowledge and work experience up to that point was primarily schematic design, and that was the main focus of this exam. With that, and only that, as the guiding principle as to where I would start this journey, I began. I read the whole book, twice. And to my overwhelming surprise, I passed. First exam, first time.

After that, I got ahead of myself and ended up failing the next two exams. A little while later, I retook one of the exam and I passed it. With this I learned how to study and what worked for me. It turns out that the two exams I passed - I studied a certain way. And the two I failed, I was scatterbrained.

This video is a broad overview of how I study for the AREs - specifically, the type of environment I create when I get into "study mode".
