Gaseous State L-02 Grahams Law of Diffusion, Kinetic Theory of Gases (KTG) CL-135 for Free Neet Chemistry Lectures from Bewise Classes Graham's law of effusion was formulated by Scottish physical chemist Thomas Graham in 1848. Graham found experimentally that the rate of effusion of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of the mass of its particles.
The model, called the kinetic theory of gases, assumes that the molecules are very small relative to the distance between molecules. The molecules are in constant, random motion and frequently collide with each other and with the walls of any container.
