Home Networking: How to test your (10Gbit) network, a guide to iperf (Mikrotik CRS309-1G-8S+IN) In a previous video ( ) we looked at the Mikrotik CRS309-1G-8S+IN, I've now been using it for several months and it's been doing really great. But how do you know if everything is performing the way it should? Let's run through a method you can test your network speeds, even if you are running 10Gbit!

Various length 10Gbit DAC cable:
Various length 10Gbit OM3 Fiber (LC connector):

Cheapest option is some Mellanox ConnectX-2 cards with DAC cables (directly to each other or with switch). After that you can choose between running fiber cable with those same cards or buying Aquantia cards and using CAT5e, CAT6 or higher for 10Gbit!
