Caledonia Mining (LON:CMCL) has upped its earnings estimate for 2019 by 80% due to a combination of a higher gold price, better production and lower operating costs. Adjusted earnings are now expected to be in a range of US$1.55 to US$1.75 per share.

Greatland Gold (LON:GGP) has reported more of what it describes as outstanding drill results from Havieron in Western Australia. Partner Newcrest’s latest update shows gold at grades of 6-7 grams per tonne over widths between 25 and 43 metres at around 500 metres down. Newcrest described the results as unique for the region.

Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group has offset almost 73% of a 674 million euro Belgian tax bill after the authorities in the country agreed with the former Sports Direct that VAT was not liable in this instance. Talks are ongoing over the remaining 183 million.
