In early 2019, I was lucky enough to interview a few drummers around Portland and Seattle in the Pacific Northwest. These folks included Justin Potts of Visionary Drum, Jake Endicott of Revival Drum Shop, Remi Aguilella of Daughter, and Sean Lane of Pedro The Lion and Keplinger Drums. Seve Sheldon is a super rad drummer in Portland. Despite being a veteran player, he’s still enthusiastic about learning new stickings, grooves, fills, and theory. And he teaches too! Seve has been teaching out of Revival Drum Shop in Portland, Oregon, for years, and the entire local community has nothing but good things to say about his approach. He’s toured with several bands, including Wild Ones, but he’s got passions beyond drumming too. He’s really into gardening, as we talk about throughout the video. It’s great to talk to another drummer and get a look at how drums and drumming work into any life.
