USA: Trump 'has no doubt' Iranian drone was downed

US President Donald Trump on Friday, reiterated his Thursday announcement that a US warship had downed an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump made the remarks while participating in a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing in the White House in Washington DC

"No doubt about it, no. We shot it down,” said Trump who then asked US National Security Advisor John Bolton to back his statement.

Trump boasted about US’s military prowess when asked about a probability of military clash with Iran in the Persian Gulf.

"We hope for their sake, they don't do anything foolish. If they do, they will pay a price like nobody has ever paid a price," warned Trump.

The statement came after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) released images which it said proved the US had not shot down one of its drones in the Strait of Hormuz.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have been rising after Trump ordered but then called off airstrikes against Iran following the downing of a US drone.
