Larry has spent the last 35 years helping start-ups reach their full potential.

Over that time he has directly participated in over $1 billion in early stage financings. Larry has a deep understanding and background working with pre-revenue and startup projects, and he has held senior and executive roles in corporate banking, investment banking and venture capital management. He has been an investor and/or worked with some of the most exciting companies to come out of Silicon Valley, Israel Australia.

Prior to moving to Australia in 2006, Lopez spent 17 years at Silicon Valley Bank. During his tenure at SVB he played a key role in growing the company from a local community bank to a global leader in providing financial services for technology companies and investors. Larry is a director of several private companies and venture capital funds, and he sits on a number of not for profit boards in Australia and the United States.

Larry Lopez is the Director of the Australian Government’s Accelerating Commercialisation program. In this capacity he has overseen the Government’s direct investment through $1:$1 matching grants of over $200 million in nearly 400 companies over the last 3 ½ years. The focus of the Accelerating Commercialisation is to support eligible pre-revenue projects commercializing novel technology.
