The Assam Government on Thursday inaugurated its 'Abhinandan' -Educational loan subsidy scheme. Under this scheme, the state government will provide a one time subsidy of Rs 50,000 rupees to those students who availed educational loan for higher studies.
A total of 1,546 students received educational loans under the 'Abhinandan' Scheme from the Assam government.
The scheme was inaugurated at a function in Guwahati's Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Health and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya were also present at the function.
