Auschwitz survivor remembers emptiness

Eva Umlauf was only two years old when she was liberated from Auschwitz. She doesn't have any conscious memories from her early childhood in the Nazi death camp, but even so the nightmarish experience has cast a dark shadow over her entire life. (Jan. 22)
