Sizing a Birch Panel in preparation for the primer layer and subsequently the gesso layer.

This is a video of me preparing a panel using Wallace Seymour’s acrylic size.

In preparation for a painting I am about to paint. 5-6 layers of Wallace Seymour acrylic size 1 part water to 3 parts Size.

I do the same for the primer - ratio 1 part water to 3 parts Wallace Seymour primer, about 5-6 coats basically to the desired whiteness.

Finally for the gesso I do two coats, the same ratio 1 part water to 3 parts gesso.
